The Author / The Journey

His Story

Paul Ivy writing at a library desk

A Past Lived.
A Future Written.

Paul Ivy is an author and poet originally from Chicago, Illinois, who has called Tennessee home for many years. During his time in Tennessee, his life has taken him down many roads of trials and tribulations, including time in state and federal prisons. Those experiences are part of the story he now shares through his writing.

Today, Paul speaks from a different place: one of peace, growth, and dreams for the future. His past remains part of his journey, while his words give him a way to reflect on where he has been and express where he hopes to go.

Through true-life street poetry, he writes about his struggles, the changes in his life, and the future he is working toward. His books, Orange Mound Finest: True Life Street Poetry and Ghetto Survivor: True Life Street Poetry, introduce readers to that voice.

Hood Truth brings his work and his purpose together. It is a place for readers to discover his books, learn about the man behind the words, and connect with him directly. As Paul continues writing, it will also be home to the next chapters of his work.

At the heart of his message is a desire to share knowledge and hope with people who want to grow. In his own words: "Today I try to share knowledge and hope for all that want to grow."

In His Own Words
"I finally found peace."
